New York, NY| The St. Joseph's College (L.I.) women's and men's basketball teams were selected to finish ninth and sixth, respectively, according to the Skyline Conference's 2019-20 preseason coaches polls released on the conference's website on Wednesday morning.

The men move to a divisional format in 2019 with six teams comprising both the North and South Divisions. SJC was selected to finish sixth out of six teams in the South Division.

The women collected 27 points, 66 fewer than USMMA, which garnered 93 total points, four first-place votes and was picked to finish first.

Head coach Vicki Andruskiewicz enters her second season at the helm of the SJC women's team and looks to build off a maiden season that saw her side post a 4-21 record (3-15 Skyline).

The men totaled 17 points and finished last in their divisional poll. Yeshiva University earned 66 total points and 11 first-place votes to top the South Division poll. Farmingdale State was second with 54 total points and one first-place vote.

Michael McSloy takes over the men's program and a team that went 5-20 (4-16) a year ago. McSloy welcomes back senior Frank Basile, who finished second in the conference in scoring in 2018-19 (19.7 PPG).

The women open their season on Thursday, November 14 when they visit Baruch College for a non-conference contest at 6:00 pm. The men get started at York College on November 8 with a 7:00 pm non-conference match-up.
